Click on a picture to go to info about that publication The Childminder Support Pack has been developed to support childminders in providing the highest quality of service. It enables childminders to consider how they are meeting the needs of children in their care, as well as the needs of parents/carers. The pack consists of a specially designed and constructed folder and two A4 booklets that sit inside the folder. Although not strictly within the birth to five bracket, our new Pre-birth Development Wheel is worth a mention as it will be an invaluable tool for mothers-to-be, giving help and advice on what to expect from conception through to birth The other two Development Wheels featured on this page cover birth to five years. Split into nine sections, one is a general tool advising parents of what to expect during the first five years. The other wheel is more specific and will help in the development of speech and language skills in the early years. It covers five key areas which are: Attention and Listening Social Interaction Play Understanding Expression, Talking and Speech. Our practitioners books outline what we might expect children to be achieving in the first few years of their lives and are broken down into small age-related segments. Based around the national framework and endorsed by leading early years author, Penny Tassoni, they cover the key principles of the national Early Years Foundation Stage. As well as offering guidance and advice to support the development of children, they also suggest activities you can do with them to stimulate their development. Whilst 'Helping Little Ones Bloom' is best suited to students studying for Early Years qualifications and a career in childcare, the birth to five book entitled 'A Development & Learning Journey', which was originally developed for early years practitioners, has become popular with carers wanting further help and advice.
